UFC 212 – Jose Aldo vs. Max Holloway set for featherweight unification clash

UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo takes on interim champ Max Holloway in the main event of UFC 212. The title unification bout was confirmed as both fighters successfully made weight.

Aldo (26-2) was a long time featherweight titleholder before losing the belt to Conor McGregor at UFC 194. The Brazilian most recently fought at UFC 200 last July where he earned a unanimous decision win over Frankie Edgar. That fight was also for an interim title, however, Aldo was promoted champion after McGregor failed to defend the title.

Holloway (17-3) enters the fight on a tear having won his last ten fights. His coming off a third round technical knockout of Anthony Pettis at UFC 206 last December. Holloway also holds victories over Ricardo Lamas, Jeremy Stephens and Charles Oliveira inside the octagon.

UFC 212 takes place from the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeio in Brazil on Saturday, June 3.
