The Bellator Fighting Championships announced today that Tim Carpenter has been added to the field for the light heavyweight tournament. The undefeated Carpenter (6-0) fights out of Balance Studios in Philadelphia. He credits the City of Brotherly Love for his growth as a mixed martial artist as he states on the Bellator.com release;
The fight scene here in Philadelphia is great. It’s really like a family, and it really pushes you to be at your best. I’m always training, and it has turned me into a really well rounded fighter. I’m comfortable on my feet, but also on the ground, and my training here has a lot to do with it.
Carpenter has competed in October 2010 at Bellator 33 where he earned a split decision victory over Jamal Patterson. He will join D.J. Linderman, Chris Davis, Daniel Gracie and Nik Fekete as the confirmed participants in the light heavyweight tournament which kicks off in March.
