Ryan McGillivray vs. Nathan Coy welterweight title bout headlines MFC 33: Collision Course

Maximum Fighting Championship logoThe Maximum Fighting Championship announced today that Ryan “The Kid” McGillivray and Nathan “Soulforce” Coy will vie for the vacant welterweight title in the main event at MFC 33 Collision Course. McGillivray and Coy are both coming off wins at MFC 32 to set-up the title bout.

MFC 33 will be held at the Mayfield Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on May 4th. The main card will air live on HDNet.

McGillivray (12-5-1) will get an opportunity to fight in front of his hometown fans in Edmonton. He submitted Diego Bautista by arm-bar submission in the third round at MFC 32. He has now recorded ten of his career wins by submission. Coy (10-4) is a former an All-American wrestler at Oregon State University who now trains out with the American Top Team. He earned is spot in the title fight by scoring a unanimous decision win over Dhiego Lima.

The MFC 33 card also features a light heavyweight clash between Aron Lofton and Dwayne Lewis, as well as, a lightweight bout matching Diego Bautista against Sabah Fadai.
