Patricio Freire confirmed for Bellator Season 4 Featherweight Tournament

The Bellator Fighting Championship announced today that Patricio “Pitbull” Freire will compete in the upcoming Season 4 Featherweight Tournament. The eight-man tournament is set to kick off in March and will be televised on MTV2.

Freire (14-1) was a participant in the season 2 tournament where he reached the finals but ultimately lost to champion Joe Warren. This marked his first loss after beginning his professional MMA career with 14 straight victories. The winner of the upcoming tournament will be granted a title shot against Warren. Freire states in the Bellator.com release;

The time to show what I am all about is coming. To win this tournament would mean a dream coming true. I can honestly say that I am more confident for this season than I was last year. Last year I got close, this year it’s mine!

Freire joins Wilson Reis, Daniel Straus, Zac George, Georgi Karakhanyan, Kenny Foster and Eric Larkin as the confirmed participants of the featherweight tournament.
