Invicta FC 1 Results – Romy Ruyssen vs. Marloes Coenen

invicta fc 1 coenen vs ruyseen posterThe Invicta Fighting Championships debut event takes place from the Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas on Saturday, April 28th.

The all female MMA event will stream live and free on the Invcita website beginning at 8:00pm ET. Event results will be posted below following each bout.

Invicta FC 1 Results

Megan Wright vs. Cassie Rodish
Rodish defeated Wright by guillotine choke submission at 0:36 of the first round. There was no touch of gloves as Rodish presses forward getting Wright in a front headlock which turns into the guillotine.

Sofia Bagherdai vs. Ashley Cummins
Cummins defeated Bagherdai by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-38). Cummins remains undefeated in her young career as she improves to 3-0. After a close first round Cummins began to take control with a more technical standup and timely takedowns.

Mollie Estes vs. Randi Miller
Miller defeated Estes by technical knockout at 3:27 of the third round. Miller, a former Olympic medalist, picks up her first career MMA win. Miller relentless with her takedown attempts as she pushed through multiple knees and elbows from Estes. Miller began to take control in the second round once she was successful in getting the fight to the ground where she began to drop big shots on Estes. In the third, Miller dropped low for the takedown and began to punish Estes with hammerfists until the referee stepped in to call it off.

Michele Gutierrez vs. Sarah Maloy
Maloy defeated Gutierrez by unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 29-28). A very close bout as both fighters chose to pick their shots from a distance. Gutierrez showed good movement while circling behind a jab but it was Maloy advancing forward.

Amy Davis vs. Nicdali Rivera-Calanoc
Davis defeated Rivera-Calanoc by kimura submission at 3:47 of the second round. Rivera-Calanoc looked to take the fight to the ground but once there she had to fight off submission attempts from Davis. A takedown late in the second leads to ground and pound from Davis and then the submission finish.

Sarah Schneider vs. Sally Kumdiack
Schneider defeated Kumdiack by armbar submission at 3:01 of the first round. A bloody bout comes to an end when the fight hits the ground. Schneider locked on a triangle Kumdiack worked hard to fight off. However, Davis transitioned to an armbar which finished the fight as Kumdiack’s arm was hyper-extended.

Vanesaa Mariscal vs. Sarah D’Alelio
D’Alelio defeated Mariscal by technical knockout at 3:19 of the second round. It was a dominate performance from D’Alelio who controlled the action from the opening bell. Mariscal deserves credit for surviving multiple submission attempts and ground-and-pound from D’Alelio. In the end, D’Alelio was punishing D’Mariscal on the ground which ultimately forced her to tap from strikes.

Leslie Smith vs. Kaitlin Young
Smith and Young fight to a draw. The Fight of the Night so far as Smith and Young put on a great performance. It was a very even bout as both fighters stood toe-to-toe while tradining strikes and kicks for the entire three rounds. Can we get a rematch please.

Ashleigh Curry vs. Liz Carmouche
Carmouche defeated Curry by technical knockout at 1:58 of the first round. It was all Carmouche who quickly scored a takedown and moved to full mount where she would pound out Curry.

Lisa Ellis vs. Jessica Penne
Penne defeated Ellis by technical knockout at 2:48 of the third round. Penne improves to 9-1 as forces the late TKO from ground and pound while on the back of Ellis. It was a solid ground war with both fighters showcased impressive takedowns, throws and grappling.

Romy Ruyssen vs. Marloes Coenen
Coenen defeated Ruyssen by unanimous decision (30-26, 30-26, 30-26). Ruyssen was unable to avenge the only loss of her career as the clinch work of Coenen carries her to a victory. A point was deducted from Ruyssen for grabbing the fence in the first round. Coenen would control the pace of the fight as a majority of the bout played out with her pressing Ruyssen into the cage. Ruyssen was unable to get off the cage as she absorbed short strikes and knees from Coenen.
