The International MMA Federation (IMMAF) and Extreme Sports Channel have signed a multi-event deal to broadcast highlights of all IMMAF events in 2016 in Europe, Middle-East and Africa.
Having successfully staged its second World Championships of Amateur MMA in Las Vegas in July last year, IMMAF recently expanded its portfolio of events to include continental championships. This began with the 2015 European Open Championships last November in Walsall, England and will continue with further continental tournaments later this year.
In addition to an expansion in the number and geographical spread of events, IMMAF has also increased its production to 10x 1 hour shows of each event, a ten-fold increase on previous output.
The deal with Extreme Sports Channel guarantees exposure for all IMMAF events in over 130 countries throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Densign White, CEO of IMMAF, commented:
“In Extreme Sports Channel we’re delighted to find a broadcast partner who understands the great potential of Amateur MMA and who will work with us to develop the IMMAF broadcast platform. We are thrilled at Extreme’s commitment to ongoing worldwide exposure of IMMAF championship events, documenting the journey and progression of MMA athletes as they work their way up from the grassroots level, through the Amateur divisions to the elite.”
Tim Macmullen, General Manager of Extreme Sports Channel, added:
“I’m extremely pleased to have signed this deal with IMMAF. We’re delighted to be supporting and promoting grassroots amateur MMA and I know our viewers across EMEA will enjoy seeing the stars of the future in our coverage of IMMAF’s fast-growing schedule of events from across the world.”
