The 5-day IMMAF World Championships tournament will take place at the Flamingo Las Vegas from July 6 to July 9, before moving to the UFC Fan Expo at the Sands Expo & Convention Center on July 11 for its finals. The competition which forms part of the planet’s largest celebration of combat sports for International Fight Week, is expected to welcome up to 200 athletes from across 30 countries. As part of the event deal with IMMAF, Century will be providing athlete equipment and competition wear.
Century President, Paul Webb, said: “We are happy to be teaming up with the IMMAF and providing their athletes with high quality competition equipment.”
Century Senior Vice President, Leon Rogers, added:
“Century has taken a leadership role in our industry with regards to ensuring our products are safe for their intended use. We work through performance testing and consultancy with the Biomechanics Injury Research Lab at the University of Southern California for our head gear and gloves. We have recently joined the ASTM International committee on head gear standards (ASTM F-2397) in hopes of getting the Martial Arts head gear standard updated and improved. IMMAF is likewise committed to regulation and safety in the sport and I believe this forms the foundation of a great relationship.”
IMMAF CEO, Densign White, said:
“We are very pleased to partner again with Century following a successful partnership over the inaugural 2014 IMMAF World Championships that took place in Las Vegas last year. This year the event is set to be bigger and better with more countries and athletes taking part. IMMAF is working hard to develop safer MMA through its commitment to introducing World Anti-Doping standards, its work on participant progression schemes and its setting of unified standards through the IMMAF Amateur rules and protocol. We are very happy to renew with Century, as a leader in their field, and as a company likewise committed to the continual improvement of safety for martial artists. I would like to thank the Century team for their continued support of Amateur Mixed Martial Arts and the movement for regulation in the sport.”
