Bellator Lightweight Tournament announced, “Razor” Rob McCullough confirmed as first participant

The Bellator Fighting Championship has officially announced that they will be holding a lightweight tournament for season 4. Bellator has previously announced tournaments for welterweights, light heavyweights and featherweights for the upcoming season. Participants in the lightweight tournament are competing for $100,000 and a title shot against current lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez.

McCullough (19-6) is a former World Extreme Cagefighting lightweight champion who has won his past two fights while competing for Tachi Palace Fights. He recently told Bellator.com;

You’re definitely going to see a new and improved version of “Razor” Rob in Bellator. I have a family now so I’m not out running around like I was before. I’m more conditioned and focused than ever. I’ve completely rededicated myself to this sport. This is my career. I’m supporting a little boy and a wife now. It’s become bigger than just me.

The eight-man lightweight tournament is scheduled kick off in March and will be shown live on MTV2.
