Three weeks in the Bellator Fighting Championships season six and there have already been several amazing finishes. Last night at Bellator 62 was no exception as Rick Hawn made the drop down to lightweight and made a statement with a brutal ground and pound finish of Ricardo Tirloni. Hawn connected with a huge right hand that dropped Tirloni then he attacked with a flurry of hammerfists which punched his ticket to the semifinal round of the lightweight tournament.
Also picking up tournament wins were Thiago Michel, Brent Weedman and Lloyd Woodard. Michel utilized a superior stand-up game consisting of a variety of kicks to earn a decision over Rene Nazare. Weedman would earn a second round submission by von flue choke over JJ Ambrose while Woodard won by a a vicious kimura submission over Patricky Pitbull which appeared to dislocate the Brazilian’s elbow.
