Lyman Good vs. Michael Costa welterweight qualifier set for Bellator 59

Lyman GoodThe Bellator Fighting Championships announced that former welterweight champion Lyman “Cyborg” Good will take on Michael Costa at Bellator 59 on November 26th. The bout will serve as a qualifier for the Season 6 welterweight tournament. Bellator Chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney commented on the match-up saying, “Lyman always brings it, and Michael is the real deal with great skills, so this should be a very explosive fight.”

Good (11-2) was the first ever Bellator welterweight champion. However would drop the title when he was defeated by Ben Askren at Bellator 33. Since that loss, Good has gone on to earn a decision over Chris Lozano and then was outpointed by Rick Hawn. Costa (10-5-1) will be making his debut with Bellator after competing primarily in Brazil and Japan. He last fought in November 2010 when he recorded a first round technical knockout of Danny Salinas.

Bellator 59 take place from the Caesars Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The event is highlighted by the Season 5 bantamweight tournament final between Eduardo Dantas and Alexis Vila.
