Bellator officials announced two bouts for the card on Monday. Jessica “Jag” Aguilar will square off against submission specialist Megumi “Mega Megu” Fujii and Ron “The Monster” Sparks battles Kevin “Concrete” Asplund.
Aguilar (13-4) will enter the bout riding a four fight winning streak. Aguilar, an American Top Team fighter, notched two wins under the Bellator banner in 2011. She edged Carla Esparza by split decision at Bellator 46 and earned a unanimous decision over Lisa Ellis-Ward at Bellator 58. Fujii (25-1) not has an impressive record but an even more impressive 19 wins via submission. She returns to the Bellator cage for the first time since 2010 when she competed four times. In her most recent bout on New Year’s Eve 2011, Fujii defeated Karla Benitez by armbar submission in the first round.
Knockout artist Sparks (8-1) previously competed in Bellator’s Season 5 heavyweight tournament where he advanced to the semifinals. He defeated Mark Holata by knockout in their quarterfinal round before suffering his first professional loss to Eric Prindle in the semifinals. The dangerous Asplund (15-1) will be making his debut with Bellator. Since losing his professional debut, Asplund has reeled off 15 consecutive wins with 11 coming by stoppage.
The main card of Bellator 69 will be televised live on MTV2 and the preliminary card will stream free on Spike.com
