Who are your picks for Bellator 64? How about Askren and Sandro. Check out the FRO Score which is the most accurate method for picking MMA match-ups.
The undefeated Askren (9-0) captured the welterweight title with a unanimous decision win over Lyman Good at Bellator 33 in October 2010. Askren, a former Olympic wrestler, has had his last five fights go the distance. While is striking is evolving, Askren often relies on his elite wrestling skills to control his opponent and the bout. In his most recent bout at Bellator 56 in October 2011, Askren defended his title for the first time with a hard fought split decision win over Season 4 tournament winner Jay Hieron.
Lima (21-4), the former Maximum Fighting Championship welterweight champion, also enters the bout riding a nine fight winning streak. He made his Bellator debut with a unanimous decision win over Steve Carl in the quarterfinal round of the Season 5 welterweight tournament. He would then demonstrate his potent finishing ability with back-to-back knockouts of Chris Lozano and Ben Saunders to capture the tournament title. Lima has eleven wins by submission and seven wins by knockout during his career.
Lima has not faced a wrestler the caliber of Askren who is more than willing to take the fight to the ground. Will he able to survive the grueling ground game of Askren for five rounds? On the other hand, will Lima be able to make Askren pay as he shoots for takedowns? If Lima is successful in keeping the fight standing then his superior stand-up should pay dividends.
