Bellator 60 Joe Warren vs. Pat Curran – Promo Video

The Bellator Fighting Championships is set to kick off their Season 6 from the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana on Friday, March 9th with Bellator 60. Headlining the event will be reigning featherweight champion Joe Warren putting his title on the line against Summer Series tournament winner Pat Curran.

Warren (7-2) captured the Bellator featherweight title when he defeated champion Joe Soto by knockout at Bellator 27. Warren competed twice during 2011 but his fight against Curran will be his first title defense. He won a non-title bout against Marcos Galvao at Bellator 41 and then was knocked out by Alexis Vila in the Season 5 bantamweight tournament at Bellator 51.

Curran (16-4) is the first fighter to win Bellator tournaments in two weight classes. He won the Season 2 lightweight tournament with a split decision over Toby Imada at Bellator 21. In 2011, Curran captured the Featherweight Summer Series after defeating Luis Palomino, Ronnie Mann and Marlon Sandro.

In addition to the title bout, Bellator 60 features the stacked quarterfinal round of the Season 6 featherweight tournament. The quarterfinal pairings are set with the following match-ups:

  • Marlon Sandro vs. Roberto Vargas
  • Wagnney Fabiano vs. Ronnie Mann
  • Genair da Silva vs. Alexandre “PoPo” Bezerra
  • Daniel Straus vs. Jeremy Spoon

The main card for Bellator 60 will air live on MTV2 and EPIX HD beginning at 8:00pm ET while the preliminary card will stream free on Spike.com at 7:00pm ET.
