Bellator 59 – Preliminary Card Results

  • Gregory Milliard defeats Brandon Saling by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).
  • Scott Heckman defeats Brylan Van Artsdalen by guillotine choke submission at 1:38 of the round.
  • Lucas Pimenta defeats Doug Gordon by knockout at 0:40 of the first round.
  • Levon Maynard defeats Chris Wing by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26).
  • Karl Amoussou defeats Jesus Martinez by technical knockout at 2:20 of the first round.

Bellator 59 – Main Card Results

  • Marcin Held defeats Phillipe Nover by split decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29).
  • Eduardo Dantas defeats Alexis Vila by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) to win the Season 5 bantamweight tournament. With the win Dantas earns a title shot against Bellator bantamweight champion Zack “Fun Size”
    Makovsky. Vila got off to a strong start in first round by pressing the action and securing two takedowns. However, Dantas found his range and was able to keep Vila at a distance with a more dynamic stand-up game.
  • Patricky Pitbull defeats Kurt Pellegrino by technical knockout at 0:50 of the first round. Pitbull dropped Pellegrino then attacked with a flurry of punches. Pellegrino was attempting to escape but the referee had seen enough and called off the fight. In the post fight interview, Pellegrino announced that this was his last fight.
  • The heavyweight final between Eric Prindle and Thiago Santos was ruled a no-contest due to an accidental blow. The fight was stopped at 1:24 of the first round after a standing Santos delivered a low blow to Prindle who was on his back. Prindle was unable to continue fighting after being given 5 minutes to recover. The heavyweight final is expected to be rescheduled.
